Choose the destination before the notification task
Record where the product will be supplied and which product presentation the record concerns. Do not start with an assumed UK-wide portal or reuse a reference without checking what it describes. The Responsible Person, notification information and product evidence need an explicit market scope.
The Commission's CPNP overview provides the EU notification starting point. GOV.UK's SCPN guidance identifies the GB route and distinguishes Northern Ireland. Use the NI technical guidance for that separate scope check.
Prepare information for the authorised operator
Choose the CPNP preparation guide when that is the relevant route and you need to assemble the controlled product information. Use the GB notification task for a GB supply question when its reviewed guide is listed. Follow the current official manuals for field meanings and special circumstances.
Keep the exact product name, formula and artwork revisions visible in the handover. A public ingredient line is not automatically the information needed for a formulation field. If a value or role is unresolved, record the question for the appropriate reviewer rather than filling the field by analogy.
Separate a draft from a completed event
Choose the notification-versus-approval guide if the handover contains a portal screenshot, reference or an approval-implying statement. Establish what actually occurred and who performed it. Preserve the submission reference, date and evidence versions only when verified.
A fictional maker remembers starting a portal entry but has only a draft screenshot. Its next task is to obtain the real event record. The example does not become a notified product because an internal checklist was marked Done.
Review a later change
If the formulation, presentation or relevant recorded information changes, retain the earlier reference and identify what needs review or updating. The old record is part of the history, not a universal answer about the new product revision.
Keep a proposed update distinct from a verified portal event. This hub and its organisers do not log in, notify products or submit information on the maker's behalf.
Maintain separate supply records where needed
For an Ireland-based maker proposing supply to both GB and NI, record the two destination questions separately. Agree the relevant role and notification route with the reviewer. Shared product evidence does not make the legal routes interchangeable.
The released task list shows what is available now. Where a market-specific guide is not listed, use the official authority route and retain the unresolved question. Leave with a controlled handover, an authorised owner and the next evidence task, rather than an unsupported product-approval badge.
